The Billinghurst Requa Battery gun was an early rapid-fire gun used during the Civil War. It consisted of twenty-five heavy .58 caliber rifle barrels, each 2 feet long and mounted together on a secure frame. Ammunition was loaded as a long clip of twenty-five rounds which were fired in a single volley.

I'm not sure there were examples of machine guns being placed on cars during the World war 1 era but they were mostly really high end Rolls Royce cars the car mounted machine gun in this picture has been most likely placed there for propaganda purposes as cars back then would wobble all over the place you wouldn't be able to hit anything very well.
